At MATGEO SpA we have implemented a work methodology around the blasting process that combines scientific and engineering aspects for its subsequent industrial implementation in an optimized way. The basis of the above is based on what we call “Scientific Blast”. This methodology considers stages as calibrated simulations in the field of blast scenarios that projects the levels of PPV and magnitudes of dynamic stress produced for any chosen stage. These variables are then recreated in the laboratory (dynamic stress), and the positive effects on fragmentation, such as negative damage, are evaluated according to the simulated configuration. This tool ultimately evaluates and optimizes the explosives blasting process, reducing costs.
